<strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the W2 forms to ensure that the new columns have been assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Right-click near the area where you wish to add a column in the W2\/1099 <strong>Preparer grid<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There will be a window to <strong>insert a column<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the field labeled <strong>Enter the name<\/strong> of the new column, type a value.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the default <strong>dollar amount<\/strong> for all employees in the Default cell value for the column field if applicable; otherwise, leave this field empty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The new column will display after you click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the <strong>proper W-2 field<\/strong> for the column by clicking the drop-down arrow 12 on my W-2s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Method_1_Add_a_Payroll_Field\"><\/span>Method 1: Add a Payroll Field<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Begin by selecting <strong>Maintain<\/strong>, then you have to click <strong>Default Information<\/strong>, then you have to click on <strong>Employees<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then you have to select the <strong>Employee Fields<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Now, on the first available line you have to enter the desired Field Name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As needed you have to <strong>set the field<\/strong> options\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check Memo if the field is record-only.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If there isn&#8217;t a Note field, you have to choose a G\/L Account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If a calculated field is present, check Calculate and then the required Formula.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check Run to see if the field balance should transfer over to the following payroll year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lastly, you have to select <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Method_2_Add_the_Tax_Field_to_Box_12_for_the_W-2\"><\/span>Method 2: Add the Tax Field to Box 12 for the W-2<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You have to choose <strong>Maintain<\/strong>, <strong>Payroll<\/strong>, then you have to click <strong>Payroll Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then you have to select <strong>Taxes<\/strong>, <strong>Assign Tax Fields<\/strong>, and then you have to select <strong>W-2 Fields<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the down arrow button that is under the title Include that is under the heading W-2 Box 23, and then you have to select the <strong>payroll tax field<\/strong> you need.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>appropriate code<\/strong> for your tax field that is under the title Use Code.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then you have to select <strong>OK<\/strong> and then select <strong>Finish<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For Box 12 now your tax field will appear in your W-2s<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Method_3_Remove_a_Field_from_Box_12\"><\/span>Method 3: Remove a Field from Box 12<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Begin by selecting <strong>Maintain<\/strong>, <strong>Payroll<\/strong>, and then <strong>Payroll Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then you have to select <strong>taxes<\/strong>, <strong>Assign Tax Fields<\/strong>, and then you have to select <strong>W-2 Fields<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the desired field you have to clear the Include and Use Code boxes on the line and then you have to select <strong>Ok<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lastly, you have to select <strong>Finish<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Method_4_Manually_add_the_column_to_the_W2_grid\"><\/span>Method 4: Manually add the column to the W2 grid<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use this method in case you want to manually add the information to the W2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Start by selecting <strong>Maintain<\/strong>, <strong>Payroll<\/strong>, and <strong>Payroll Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then you have to click <strong>Taxes<\/strong>, <strong>Assign tax Fields<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Now you have to click <strong>W-2 Fields<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the W-2 Box 12 section you have to click on the first available Include field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then you have to select the relevant <strong>payroll field<\/strong> from the drop-down list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From the Use Code drop-down list, you have to select <strong>DD<\/strong> on the same line.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then you have to click
