In Windows 8 and 10, type Administrator > Check Names > OK under Enter the object name to select. 

Click OK if a notification suggests that you shut the Permissions window. 

• Select Properties by right-clicking on Common Files.
• After selecting the Security tab, select Edit.
• Give full access to all parties, excluding the creator owner.
• After selecting OK, select Apply.
• For the Sage folder, follow steps 4 through 8 again.

Click twice on the Sage folder. 

• For the AccountsServicevXX, repeat steps 4 through 8. 

NOTE: The version number is indicated by vXX. 

• Open C:\Program Files (x86) and browse. 

Navigate to the C:\Program Files if your machine is 32-bit. 

• Double-click Sage after selecting Common Files.
• Double-click AutoUpdateClient after double-clicking Central.
• Select all files within the AutoUpdateClient folder with a right-click.
• After selecting Properties, select Security.
• After selecting Advanced, select the Owner tab.
• Verify that the Administrator is the owner.
• Make sure the folder owner and permissions set for Common Files are applied to: Central,  Sage, and AutoupdateClient.

• To rename any of the following files—for example, to add “old” to the filename—right-click on each one and select Rename. 

• Sg50Svc_vXX.sqlite3 
• Shim Sg50Svc_vXX.sqlite3 
• A version number of Sg50Svc_vXX.sqlite3-wal vXX is indicated. NOTE: Contact your IT support for additional assistance if you are unable to locate these files.
• After closing the browser window, reinstall the program.

Clear the temporary folder

• While you hit the R key, keep holding to the Windows Key as well.
• Enter %temp% and press OK. 
• Hit the Ctrl + A keys, followed by clicking on the Delete button. 
• Select “Yes.”
