How to Invite Users to a Shared Remote Data Access Company

  • Ensure all other users are logged out of the company.
  • Open the company navigate to Maintain Users, and Set Up User Security.
  • If the company is currently shared, select “Yes” when prompted to Pause sharing.
  • Choose “New User.”
  • For existing users, select “Edit User’s Rights (or Roles).”
  • If a user appears on the list with an asterisk, select “Add user to this company.”

Change or reset your My Sage password

  • You have to visit my.sage.co.uk  and then you have to click Sign in.
  • Then you have to enter your email address and then you have to click Continue.

Check your firewall, antivirus, and proxy server settings

This problem can be fixed by switching to a UNC path if you are using a mapped network drive to connect to company data on a server or other device.

It is a mapped drive if the Data path starts with a letter other than C, like Z.

Change this to be connected using a UNC path if it is a mapped drive.

Try running the Data Service as an administrator

  • On your keyboard, you have to press the Windows Key+R and then you have to enter Services.msc and then you have to press Enter.
  • Then you have to Browse to

  • Now you have to open Sage 50cloud Accounts and then you have to try the process that has caused an error in the first place.

  • You have to close the command prompt window.
  • Then on the keyboard, you have to press the Windows Key+R and then you have to enter Services.msc and then you have to click Enter.
  • Now you have to check the Data Service is still not running.
  • You have to right-click Sage 50 Accounts Service vxx and then you have to click Properties.
